These ambiguous, hybrid shapes utilize humor, form, and colors to seduce the viewer into confronting larger psychological human issues. Environmental issues, industrial design, fashion, popular culture inspire the visualization of these forms.

Throwaway materials play an essential role in the creation of the sculptures. The re-purpose materials with their specific histories are transformed in my studio and take on a new identity.

The sculptures allude to ideas of movement, travel, and belongings. The pieces themselves appear to function as part of multi-purpose systems but they are dysfunctional. They are approachable and threatening; they seduce the viewers and repulse them simultaneously. The sculptures incorporate the experiences of both the exterior and interior, they draw us in through portals and keep us out by shutting a lid. These post-human forms exist within boundaries that combine the organic and the mechanic, the industrial and the man made, as a means of depicting transformation and the potentiality of catastrophe.
